Up Coming SIG Events

This meeting will be focused on; reviewing current system architectures, envisioning the type of system solutions needed to meet step-function improvements in wireless data rates, mapping out the technical challenges faced while addressing network operator needs from a performance and network rollout perspectives and identifying device requirements to realise these solutions.

Active Antenna Architectures

Description

The migration of electronics to the tower -top presents many opportunities to improve the efficiency and performance of the overall Radio Access Network. New functionalities are also possible with signal processing taking place 'at point of reception' and thereby opening the way for new spatial processing techniques. This SIG investigates the technical challenges associated with efficient arrays of low-powered transceivers and their control, as a system.

Tech Challenge

  • Effective Distributed Transceiver elements and their control
  • Efficient Data processing techniques that optimise RAN performance
  • Broadband RF systems enabling multiband and multi-channel solutions
  • Broadband and optimised Power Amplifier
  • Calibration Schemes
  • Beamforming Solutions
  • Auto Optimising propagation solutions
